Is your property compliant?
The Healthy Homes compliance deadline of 1 July 2025 has now passed, which means all rental properties must already meet the required standards.
The focus is no longer on preparing for compliance, but on actively maintaining it. Ongoing compliance involves:
• Ensuring all Healthy Homes systems (heating, insulation, ventilation, moisture ingress and drainage, and draught stopping) remain in goodworking order
• Addressing maintenance issues promptly to prevent standards from being compromised
• Keeping records of inspections, servicing, and any upgrade work completed
• Reviewing the property regularly, particularly between tenancies, to confirm it continues to meet requirements
• Acting quickly on any tenant-raised concerns relating to Healthy Homes performance
Maintaining compliance is a continuous responsibility for landlords and helps avoid potential disputes, enforcement action, or financial penalties.
